Honor Guard
The End Zone Militia proudly performs honor guard duties at sporting events and special occasions. With a high standard of appearance and conduct, we participate in the ceremony bearing the nation's colors during the national anthem.
At Gillette Stadium, you may see us march out from the End Zone just prior to game time, wheeling to stand behind the singer(s) of the "The Star-Spangled Banner". At Fenway Park, End Zone Militia marches onto the field just beyond third base and wheels to face home plate just beyond second base. Of late, you may also see us at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton*.
EZM marches with an officer or non-commissioned officer on the platoon's right. The standard bearer is flanked by militia solders holding flintlocks with bayonets fixed. For colors, we often bear the Betsy Ross.
During the "The Star-Spangled Banner", gentlemen should uncover hats and caps. The public should respectfully follow decorum during the singing of the national anthem for both the United States and any other country.
*At Brockton Rox games at Campanelli Stadium, we may fire a volley at the end of the national anthem.
